Welcome to 2012. This week, we spent time revisiting our Hopes and Dreams. Each student is working on making a list of ways they can accomplish their goal. We will be sharing these once completed. We also spent time talking about how we are almost 1/2 way to second grade and how the expectations increase. Please note that I have increased reading homework from 10 minutes to 15 minutes. Students will continue working on word sorts, homelinks and mad math as part of nightly homework and writing over the weekend. We also talked about what we did well in 2011 and what we as a class could improve on in 2012. The list below is what the students came up with:
IN 2012 WE WILL:
Walk quietly in the hallway
Blurt less
Be good for guest teachers
Take fewer breaks (take-a-breaks)
Worry less about others and focus on ourselves
Keep our lockers clean
Listen to our teachers
Keep our voices down
