This week, we will be practicing a test taking strategy called "RUNNERS" in anticipation of our Reading MAP test on Friday. This is something I found online a few years ago and then changed several pieces to best fit 2nd grade students. We will be practicing RUNNERS through Friday. You are welcome to also practice this at home. You are welcome to Google "2nd grade comprehension worksheets free" and you will find lots of reading passages with questions. Although these strategies can't always apply to the MAP test, it helps students understand some of the big ideas: reading and understanding the question, when to re-read, how to eliminate wrong answers etc. Below is a presentation explaining the various components of RUNNERS and what a student example looks like.
