Valentine's Day STEM Lesson

In Science today, we completed a STEM Valentine's Day lesson. STEM incorporates Science, Technology, Engineerging and Math. I gave each group of student the following materials: 1 stick of gum, 1 Smarties candy, 1 rubber band and 2 mints. I then gave each group 10 minutes to create something using all their supplies (nothing more). Students did a fantastic job creating lots of great products. Tomorrow, we will all build airplanes with the same materials and bring them home.
