December Volunteer Opportunities

Gingerbread Houses:

* If you would like to volunteer to help us assemble gingerbread houses we are looking for parent volunteers on Friday, December 16th 3:00-3:30. 


Holidays Around the World:
On Wednesday, December 21 we will be celebrating Holidays Around the World instead of having a traditional winter holiday party. Each 1st grade teacher will teach a lesson on one holiday. Students will rotate throughout the day, visiting each classrooms during the following times: 9:35-10:10, 10:15-10:50, 10:55-11:30, 1:30-2:05. I welcome parent volunteers to come in and help. Please sign up on my volunteer wiki http://derisvolunteers.wikispaces.com (please note that parent volunteers will not rotate with classes). Parent volunteers will stay with classroom teachers. 


Mystery Reader:
If you would like to come in during December or January and read a holiday or winter book, please send me an email to set-up a date and time. I will need to know what picture book you want to read and 3 clues that I can put up on the SMARTboard so students can guess who you are. 


Lunch:
As always, you are welcome to come have lunch with your child. Students go out for recess at 11:42 and lunch is from 12:00-12:17.
